This blog has been created for the members of EDT 3470 Gardening Group, Trista Kelly and Amber Malburg. It is available for communication and collaboration during the Fall 2010 Semester at Western Michigan University. We are participating in Project-Based Learning (PBL) as we work collaboratively to explore many of applications of instructional technology.

So far, I have found one that I love. I'm not sure what the requirements are as far as the type of website we need, but I'm assuming it will need to be about gardens! :)

ReplyDeleteBUT... I think if we are aiming for younger kids, then we may need to continue looking. There are more for older people.
ReplyDeleteLOVE THIS ONE!

ReplyDeleteI will have to look up some websites that I can contribute and I will look at all these sites and see which ones I like as well.
ReplyDeleteOkay. Remember we have to each choose three, and they cant be the same.
ReplyDeleteWhat age group do we want to aim this project towards?
ReplyDeleteI have some sites that are more for younger kids:
1. aggie-horticulture.tamu.edu/kindergarden/kinder.htm
(click on children's gardens then school gardens for more stuff)
2. thekidsgarden.co.uk
3. urbanext.illinois.edu/firstgarden/
Of yours I liked the first 3. On the last one, I didn't really find anything interesting.
I will try and find more sites for older learners and tell me what you think about mine. :)
I think we should utilize all varieties. If we make our project more universal, then we can adapt it for all age groups. Since we aren't 100% sure where we are going with all of this yet, I think we should keep our options open and explore all different kinds of websites. Some may be more for us as the teachers, and some may be more for our students.
ReplyDeleteI have evaluated the first three I found, so you should do the three you found.
I just realized. the third site I found is actually a branch of the first one, so I'm going to find a different one.
ReplyDeleteOk sounds good.
ReplyDeleteI evaluated my sites last night and I think they will work. I think we should get a variety of sites for different ages, so that way it's just not focused on a certain age group. Also, having the different age group sites could help us pull information and ideas and construct it into one main concept.
ReplyDeleteAmber,
ReplyDeleteI want to check with you and see if you understand exactly where this project is going. I actually don't understand it fully. I am taking each week at a time, and I know we are doing it correctly so far. But what is the overall outcome supposed to be? Are we designing a curriculum for our students that is PBL?
I am not really sure. I am taking it a week at a time also and trying to see if I could figure this out. I'm going to look over the syllabus again and see if I can make some sense of it.
